Summer Camp Highlights

Today was the last of summer camp for Elliot (Amelia's camp finished over a week ago) and there are only 2 more days of summer break left till we start off with school again. These past 10 weeks have flown by and we all really enjoyed this summer. While we only had a couple of weeks of family vacation time, most of the summer, the children spent their days at camps. Elliot attended camp at his preschool while Amelia went to the YMCA camp. Both kids had lots of fun at their respective camps from a clown's visits, science experiments, water and bike days, lots of pool days, movie afternoons, ice cream treats to lots of arts and crafts projects and fitness activities. One can say, they were well entertained and never got bored. Their first day of camp pictures in the beginning of June:
While the preschoolers never left the property, the enjoyed cooling off twice a week during Water/ and  Bike/Water Days. The teachers took lots of pictures during the summer and shared them with the parents, which is where most of these photos came from.
Every two weeks, some gym instructors came to preschool to share some fun exercises with the children:
My sweaty, silly little boy:
Fun on the bounce houses:
The Puppet Truck also came to visit the preschoolers. I was told that the children really enjoyed watching the show.
The local police department stopped by and gifted each child a stuffed animal. Elliot received a small hammerhead shark, which was the perfect stuffie for my shark loving boy.
Elliot's group and his teacher, Ms. Chew:
Doing Tie-Dye t-shirts and other arts projects:
But the best part of camp was that he had his friends there with him all along:
Mr. Bond, the Science Guy, came by one day to perform some mind-blowing experiments with the preschoolers. Elliot loved helping him.
I have less photos of Amelia during camp but on some days, I was able to attend their activities. Here are some snapshots. I loved how they set-up the rooms. There were lots of tables with STEM activities, a reading nook, board games, music instruments and a craft table, which they could use when they were not in their groups doing anything else.
Lots of crafts and pictures came home, hand-made by my favorite little girl:
Scooter and Crazy Dress-up day:
They also had several afternoons were they cooled off with snow-cones and ice-cream treats as well as a BBQ during carnival week:
The children had a GLOW day:
And a Clown came to perform some funny tricks and sing songs with them and make balloon animals for everyone:
Amelia also attended an ART camp in June for an entire week and loved it. So many crafts and paintings were created we can fill an entire wall with it. She also had a great time with her friend Payton.
As you can see, the children had quite the fun summer and are sad that it is over soon. But we are all ready for a regular routine to start and both children are excited to see who their teachers are this school year.
