Summer Camp - Part I

I can't believe we are halfway thru our summer break (TN starts and ends early). This means the kids only have a month of camp left before they will spend a week at home and then we start off a new school year. Since we are on vacation this coming week, I thought it is a great time to post some pictures of what they have been up to at camp. Both children attend a summer program at a nearby church.
Elliot is in the 3-year old class and Amelia is with the school-aged children. But throughout the day, they see each other, which made it an easy adjustment for Elliot. Both kids love going and have made friends quickly. The teachers are great and every day they do something fun. Also, all the pictures have been taken by their teachers.
They play ball games and have obstacle courses:
Once a week, the big kids go to the community pool:
While the little ones have water fun at school:
Every Friday is bike day, which means Elliot brings his walking bike to school and they race around the parking lot.
Sometimes it rains and the pool gets canceled but they still have fun on the water slides with some soap (at least everyone was very clean afterwards):
They also have a craft day once a week:
Coloring tiles
Making a balloon wind chime
crafts made from natural materials
Last week, Mr Bond and the Science Guys were at camp and performed some cool experiments:
Nature walks, collecting of natural materials and "s'mores":
Elliot loved having show-and-tell, where he showed off his new Captain America car + pegs (made by his mommy):
Amelia and her group at the playground one morning:
They also do a lot of dancing and gymnastic exercises. Amelia found her love for line dancing:
The older children also went twice to the movie theater while the smaller ones stayed behind and had a pajama and movie day, popcorn included, at school. Also, they pray every day and have little bible lessons, which are one of the reasons we chose this preschool and summer camp.
Snack time is his favorite!
They made Thank You poster for our local policeman and firefighters:
Of course, there are lots of other things they do at camp (indoor and outdoor playgrounds at site) but the highlight was so far the firetruck that came and cooled them off:
Now, it is time for a well deserved family vacation and then they will go back to camp for another 3 weeks. I'm so happy that they are having a fun summer (they do sleep well every night), which made the transition of me going back to work much easier. Plus, working part-time is a perk as I can pick them before or after nap, depending if we have plans for the afternoon or not.
