Christmas Performances

This is the season of Christmas parties, performances and plays. And having a child in elementary school means we can at least count on one or two performances per semester to watch our child sing, dance and mature in front of an audience. And this season, both of her performances fell on the same day. Last Thursday, her first performance was with her after-school Drama Kids program, where the kids showed off what they do during their weekly hour-long meetings. This Club is not about a theater production but rather to learn the right techniques to become a confident and great presenter/ performer. Amelia enjoys going and had no issue showing off either. Actually, it was hard to get a good picture as she was very entertained and silly too.
A few hours, we were back at school for the first grade Christmas program. All first graders wore pj's and were excited to perform in front of their families.
The children performed songs in between spoken parts of "It was the Night before Christmas" and also a couple of dances.
Amelia was chosen to be part in the dance of the sugar plum fairies:
We all enjoyed the performance and loved seeing our little girl up on stage. I love hearing children sing Christmas songs. They all were great and made us all proud.

We finished the night off by stopping at a Christmas light display, where the owners sync Christmas music you hear on your radio to their light display. A fun and festive way to finish off a great day of performances.
