Breakfast with Santa

On Saturday morning we surprised the children by getting up, dressed and then headed to the Mall. There, at the Aquarium Restaurant awaited us a Breakfast with Santa. We had originally planned to take Elliot for dinner on his birthday to the restaurant to enjoy a meal and the huge fish tank but due to his sickness we had to cancel that plan. And I found out that they have a Santa breakfast and at the last  minute secured our spots. Both children were excited to finally speak to the jolly old guy in the red suit and were mesmerized by the big fish tank.
We got placed at the perfect spot: right in front of the tank. But before we got in line for the buffet, we first saw Santa and Mrs. Claus:
Elliot and Amelia told Santa their Christmas wish and were two happy kids. They work hard to stay on the Nice List and I'm sure Santa will stop by our house on Christmas Eve.
The breakfast buffet included everything from bacon, sausage, pancakes to hot waffles and lots of fruit and cookies. It was very tasty. We even had time to enjoy our food as the kids were occupied looking at all the different fish.
And then there was a surprise visitor in the fish tank: Santa and his elf.
While Santa dried himself off before he could chat with more children, the restaurant raffled off some toys. Every child received a raffle ticket with their complimentary gift bag when coming in and Amelia had her eye set on a big orange fish. When the fish came up to be raffled off, she had the lucky ticket. One very lucky and happy girl with a big orange fish!
Sharky also made an appearance:
The fish in the tank were pretty amazing. Even the adults loved looking at them.
It was a great morning for all of us. I'm glad we got in as someone just cancelled the day before because the food was great, the ambiance perfect and the price very reasonable. I highly recommend this event to any family.
On Sunday, we stayed in our pj's and got some baking done. This year, it was later than normal to bake some Christmas goodies but in 2.5 hours we accomplished quite a few treats. I had really good help too:
Elliot and Amelia with their favorite cookie. They couldn't wait to be my taste tester:
Only a few more days till Christmas and the excitement in the house and at school is at an all time high. This truly is the best age for some fun Advent activities and to enjoy the magic of the season thru my children's eyes.
