As you can tell from all the blog posts and the fact that I'm still trying to catch-up, this month has been filled to the rim for us. We participated in so many fun things, celebrated lavishly, learned something new, met new people but most of all enjoyed spending time with the people we love. On Monday, we had to say goodbye to Oma as she had to fly back to Germany. Those past 3 weeks went by way to quickly and we all loved having her here. There were some little arguments (mostly about parenting styles- different generations) but that doesn't mean that we didn't enjoy our time together. The kids playing a last game of memory with Oma and some kisses too:
We made a bonfire on Sunday night and enjoyed hotdogs and some S'mores:
And then we headed to the airport on Monday and said our goodbyes. Thank you for visiting us, Mami/ Oma. We love you! We will see each other next summer.
For the past few weeks, you could hear me talk about the pretty leaves and all the fall colors daily. Every time I'm outside, I'm amazed at all the various shades of red, orange, green, yellow, brown and purple. Since I grew up in a country that has 4 seasons, and then living for the past 14 years in sunny Florida, where it is always summer, I truly missed these seasonal changes and must declare that fall is my favorite part of the year. And here is some proof why (in reality it looks much prettier):
The kids also love the fall season; especially, playing and jumping in to the leaves:
