It's official...we are moving again!

Yes, you read that correctly. After barely a year of moving from South Florida to Mooresville, NC, we are now moving to Nashville, TN. My husband has received a job offer with the U.S. government there in March and now, we are moving. I definitely didn't imagine such a big move this year, but the opportunity was too good to turn down.
Nashville is quite different from our small town here but we hope to connect with some other families there as well as we did here. That's what I will miss most about Mooresville: our friends and neighbors and the other mommies as well as the great community and all the town's activities. I know there is plenty to do in Nashville but connecting with people in Mooresville seemed very easy and uncomplicated and I hope we will have that there too.

We have been looking for housing in Nashville since March but only now where able to find a rental property. The housing market is extremely fast moving and so we were unable to purchase something we liked. Therefore, we are going to rent a house for a year until we will find something more permanent. We are planning to live in Nashville for at least 10 years and want to plant some roots there. I guess my backyard chicken coop and my goats have to wait for a while longer.
I was a bit anxious for the past few weeks as we had the movers scheduled to come in the end of May but had not found housing in Nashville yet. But we decided to trust in God and be patient and finally this week all came together. Derrick found this rental house in Nashville while our landlord was able to find someone who wants to move in to our current property in the beginning of June. Also, we were able to switch our moving date to May 16th, in two weeks. This might seem a bit chaotic but we are looking forward to be reunited since my husband has been working in Nashville already for the past 7 weeks. These past weeks were quite long, sometimes really rough and lonely but all worth it in the end.  This move will be different though as a company is packing up our house and moving it to Nashville for us (I still have to unpack though). I'm excited about that fact even though moving day is approaching quickly and there are still so many things to get ready and social activities to attend. Our life is definitely not boring and our pursuit for happiness keeps on going. We are ready and excited about this new adventure and I will make sure to share it with on here on the blog.

  1. Congratulations, Franzie. Some tips for the movers' project: Be sure to pack anything that the kids will need for eating and sleeping the first few days, and for the kittie. That will make the first days easier. Try to label the boxes for the room you want them to go in. Pre-printing the labels will help. If it is storing in the garage, put garage on it. Movers will tend to take in a box and ask you where you want it. The labels will make it easier for a mom of two. Be sure you keep out pills, coffee pot and coffee for the first morning. Don and I have often been separated for a job. Never gets fun. So glad your time is closing in. Relax and enjoy the new adventure. Send me the rental address when you can...Joyce and Don
