Mini Vacation at the Baltic Sea

Our second week here in Germany started off with a mini vacation to the Baltic Sea with my best friend, Nadine, and her son, Elias. While the weather was perfect during the first week, it got much cooler and rainier the second week. Nonetheless, we made the best out of it and enjoyed the beach, ocean, fresh air and hotel as much as we could.
We stayed at a family hotel in Boltenhagen, right next to the Sea. The hotel was very nice and perfect for families. There was a kids´club, where we could drop off the children for a little while, a pool, a lavish breakfast and dinner buffet as well as 2 playgrounds, diverse bicycles and of course the beach to build sand castles at.
The child friendly restaurant, where we enjoyed our meals

The view from our 2-bedroom apartment:
Every morning for breakfast a cow named Resi came by to greet the kids. She is the mascot of the hotel and was incorporated in many of the hotel´s design and entertainment.
Enjoying the beach, even though it was windy and chilly on our first afternoon there.
Happily digging in the sand:
While the kids were entertained at the kids´club, Nadine and I went on a short walk thru Boltenhagen. Since the town is pretty small, an hour was plenty of time to check out the few shops. And it rained but it didn´t bother us.
Riding in style around the hotel and to the beach:
A little bit of rain didn´t stop us from having fun at the beach. Thankful for the rain gear we brought with us as the kids discovered the water on the second day:

All 5 of us:
Nadine, Elias, Franzi, Elliot and Amelia
Of course, on the day we had to leave the weather was sunny and perfect for a beach vacation. Of well, despite the rain we had lots of fun and enjoyed each others company. Quick walk along the harbor and a ride on a tricycle before heading back to Berlin
Amelia and Nadine´s father, who was there with his wife as well
Thank you, Nadine, for this short but fun vacation! Besties for 30 years and no distance in the world can break this friendship!
