Weekend in Chicago

Last Friday, we all drove 8 hours to Chicago because the kids and I had to catch a flight from there to Berlin on Sunday afternoon. After an uneventful day in the car, we all were delighted to relax at the hotel and take a swim in the pool.
Early and refreshed the next morning, we drove downtown to climb up the John Hancock Tower. After an elevator ride to the 94th  floor, we had a beautiful view over the windy city. The kids loved seeing the high rises and the roof deck pools and then the beach and the Navy Pier on the other side.
Family portrait high in the sky:
Afterwards, we took a stroll thru downtown and checked out some stores before heading to Millenium Park.

While Elliot napped in the car, Amelia and I took some selfies at the cloud gate:
There was a concert at the park, so Amelia and I listened to some music, danced and posed some too.
For dinner, we ate some delicious deep dish pizza, a must when visiting Chicago.
Before our flight on Sunday afternoon, we took a stroll around Navy Pier.
The weather was beautiful and the kids were delighted to see the boats, the Chicago skyline and the big Ferris Wheel.
Since the ride on the Ferris Wheel was extremely expensive and I don´t do well with heights, the kids chose to ride the carousel instead.
One last Chicago hot dog, as requested by my 4-year old and then we were off to the airport.
Germany, here we come! We surely will miss our Daddy a lot for those 8 weeks, but we look forward to all the adventures that await us there.
