Today, Amelia's elementary school hosted their annual Dolphin Dash fundraiser. It is their biggest event of the year to raise money for the school to purchase needed classroom items as well as technical equipment. Amelia raised a total of $55 and thanks all her supporters (Grandma and Grandpa, Oma, Opa, Aunt Bahar and Uncle Lee and her mom and dad).
Amelia's class color is red and all 20 kids were ready to run/ walk for one hour. Each lap was 1/3 mile long.
Warming up:
Ms. Wyatt doing a cheer huddle with her class. Go RED:
Ready, set, go:
Here comes my running girl. She completed 9 laps, one of the most in her class. So proud of her great effort, especially since it was a hot morning and those kids were turning red and thirsty pretty quickly (there was plenty of cold water available for everyone though).
Even Superman showed up and ran a couple of laps:
Of course, the school's mascot was there too cheering on the kids:
She was so proud and happy after her run.
All the kids deserved their popsicles! Even Elliot thought he belonged to the class.
Dolphin Dash was a success and luckily it is their last day before fall break so they can take it easy the rest of the afternoon. Running laps is exhausting. I bet all of them will sleep well tonight :)
