EU Conference in Rotterdam - SS Rotterdam

The main reason for this business trip was to attend our annual European Distributor Conference. A lot of effort and time goes in to planning and organizing this event beforehand but it is also very tiring during the 3-day conference as our usual work days range from 12 -16 hours. The week prior to the event, I spent already a couple of nights in Rotterdam to set up for the conference and to meet our new colleagues in Gouda. Here are some impressions from Rotterdam: Bicycles everywhere in Holland (this was at the train station).
Fun bar atmosphere:
Gouda is not only known for their cheese but also for the Stroopwafels. We stopped by a bakery and bought some to take home after tasting some freshly made ones.
For the conference, we stayed on the SS Rotterdam, also known as the "Grande Dame", a former ocean liner and cruise ship, which has been converted to a hotel docked permanently in the Rotterdam harbor.
For a ship, the accommodations were really spacious, the only downside being not able to open any windows.
The view from the ship over the harbor:

We even had the opportunity, to take a tour of the ship's engine room, the bridge and captain's quarters:

Next up, some great views and highlights of the conference.
